High-Quality Carbon Additive for Steelmaking and Casting
Carbon Additive (also known as Recarburizer or carbon raiser) is a carbon-rich material used in ferrous metallurgy to adjust and increase the carbon content of molten iron or steel. It is typically added during Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) or ladle furnace (LF) refining processes to achieve precise carbon levels, improve mechanical properties, and reduce oxidation loss.Common raw materials for carbon additives include Calcined Petroleum Coke, graphite Petroleum Coke, anthracite, and natural graphite. High-quality carbon additives are characterized by high fixed carbon (typically ≥98%), low sulfur (≤0.05%), low nitrogen (≤300 ppm), and high absorption rates (up to 90% or more).Carbon additives are essential in producing ductile iron, gray iron, and high-grade steel. They are available in various particle sizes (e.g., 0–1mm, 1–3mm, 3–5mm) to suit different smelting conditions. Packaging options include 25 kg woven bags, 1 ton jumbo bags, or customized solutions.
